Perkumpulan Lingkar is a non-profit organization engaged in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and sustainable development. Perkumpulan Lingkar are often assisting and facilitating disaster-prone communities, both village communities and schools, in implementing community-based disaster risk management efforts.
Perkumpulan Lingkar is active in assisting and facilitating schools to implement disaster risk reduction efforts in schools, since 2010 ago. Lingkar is also active in assisting BNPB (Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management) and BPBD (Indonesian Provincial Board for Disaster Management) to facilitate the implementation of the Annual Disaster Prepared School Program in the province of Yogyakarta. One of the schools that was accompanied by Lingkar In fact, even received the 3rd SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award 2012 Prize in the category of Education for Disaster Risk Reduction.
The strength of Perkumpulan Lingkar lies in its ability to structure and develop the concept of a program that is whole, comprehensive, sustainable, and in accordance with needs and latest developments. This power allows Lingkar to be able to establish cooperation and provide support as needed, both technical and facilitative, with various parties such as: government, society, schools, other institutions and the private sector. Perkumpulan Lingkar is supported by a facilitator with more than seven years of experience implementing disaster prepared school programs. Lingkar also has accustomed national facilitators who collaborate with BNPB in disaster management programs, both in the community and at school.
